This Privacy Policy explains what data PCBQuotes ("we") collects when you use pcbquotes.com and api.pcbquotes.com, how we use it, and your choices. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.
Information we collect
- Account details — if you create an account, your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Quotes you save — the board specifications and computed prices for quotes you save to your account.
- Anonymous quoting data — to offer instant quotes without a login and to prevent abuse, we set a signed cookie with an anonymous identifier and record your IP address to rate-limit free quotes. This is not used to identify you personally.
- Technical data — standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) generated when you use the Service.
Cookies
We use a small number of functional cookies:
- pcbq_anon — an anonymous quote identifier used to rate-limit free quoting.
- Authentication cookies — when you log in, we store access and refresh tokens so you stay signed in.
- Analytics — we use Matomo, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how the Service is used. It may set analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or sell analytics data.
The functional and authentication cookies are necessary for the Service to work.
How we use your data
- To provide instant quotes and, where available, process orders.
- To operate your account and save your quote history.
- To secure the Service and enforce quoting limits.
- To respond to your inquiries and send service-related communications.
How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service — for example, our hosting and content-delivery providers and our email provider — and only as needed to operate the Service, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep account and quote data while your account is active. Anonymous quoting records are retained only as long as needed to enforce rate limits. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
You may access, update, or delete your account information by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights over your personal data.
Children
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for business and professional use.

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
